It was very shocking news for me after discovering on the internet that DJ Avicii, aka Tim Bergling was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on April 20th. I was just getting out of my Spanish class in the middle of the day, but then I had looked at my twitter and saw the news covering my entire page. I did not want to believe it was true, but reality hit me hard.

What makes this news even more devastating for me is that it was confirmed only a few days ago that the death of Avicii was caused by suicide. I can only feel nothing but sorry for Tim and his family as he had gone through so much in his lifetime.

Most people didn't realize, including myself, that Avicii was absolutely terrified of being on stage, and DJing in front of thousands of people was literally killing him. After hearing about this, it leads me to thinking as to why nobody on his management team realized this and tried to slow things down for Tim and his touring. Though Avicii did retire in 2016. Being in the spotlight all of the time mentally destroyed him. Looking back at his old live sets on YouTube, I can now see the terror in his eyes while performing. This makes me sad to watch.

Avicii was one of my all time favorite music producers, and I've been in love with his music ever since he released his song "Levels" in 2011. Overall, his success in the music industry is one of the leading factors that made me want to become a music producer. That being said, I was truly inspired by him, and I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Tim.
